Excellent analysis of why the Dem's are so weak and the Repub's so twisted. It is amazing to note how powerful a simple word can be.. Apply it and all the things people yearn for (well summarized in the term, "make life affordable") can be thrown out of consideration by word association.

Zohran, or anyone else, whether they be the left & right of politics is a figment of imaginative political illusion.

They are purposefully positioned for people to align themselves snugly into an unnatural position of division that completely misses the real division of society that is class driven from top to bottom.

We have been sold the left-right divide for far too long for our own good.

We need to shake off these blinkers and stop looking left or right and look directly up and recognise the Un1party and the b4nking/corp0r4tions it represents.

Oh please...Zohran is NOT breaking the system. He is at best a muddled liberal with good intentions who will assuredly work to ensure the continued and smooth functioning of the capitalist profit system of wage slavery

Yeah, after Bernie Sanders and AOC - I too have grown weary of smooth talking politicians (especially running as a Democrat) who promise the moon before getting elected. So - don't get your hopes up to high yet again. Remember Sanders - all the HUGE crowds he engendered? And then the knife in the back in the end? Remember Obama. In addition, the Democratic party will NOT be changed from within. It won't happen. We've been down this road too many times already. Don't get fooled again.

On the other hand, it speaks volumes regarding that ordinary Americans really are fed up with the current Billionaire corrupt system now in place for US governance. So if Zohran does get elected, and then turns around and becomes another AOC or Bernie Sanders - it will only reinforce even further an angered population that knows they are now living in a Neo-Feudal society, run by warmongers who care more about the Wallstreet Donor class, the MIC, and a nation committing a genocide (Israel), then whether an American can put food on their table and afford rent.

It’s a test either way isn’t it. If they won’t allow him to win, then we know we will never get the things we want from them, and should never vote democrat again; if the democrats do rally round enough to get their own side home, then it’s up to him to prove he meant his promises. Either way it feels like a last chance.

He’s the Democratic Party nominee. I was told by my county party chair we work together to help him win. And you know what? I didn’t rank him. I didn’t rank Cuomo. (I wrote myself in as #4😆.) But I look at him & seriously people I trust have created content on why he’s a good candidate. I also know that mayor of nyc is a sucky job at best. I’m ready for a change. What’s the worst that could happen? Why not try this? I LOVE THAT THE GOP IS FREAKING OUT! As long as Mamdani talks to & makes a coalition with Jewish leaders & Black leaders, I am on board. Check out videos from MentallyDivine on Twitter or YouTube-he broke down how Mamdani can fund his big 3 initiatives with plenty of money left over. So. Let’s do this.

The ruling elite are so steeped in white supremacy that they won't be able to wrap their heads around this win. I shudder to think of how they'll deal with it.

They will go hell for leather to stop him, even right to the extent of handing the city to the republicans.

To be honest, I expect they will find a way. So the key thing is to take note of it. The Democratic Party would rather lose to republicans than win with socialism. They have no intention at all of ever giving you what you are voting for.

If they won’t allow Mamdani to win, their claim to oppose the right isn’t real and they must never be voted for again. This is test for the democrats, and it look like they want to fail it.

I can't wait to read this! Since I live on the northern side of our so-called border AND have little time to read, I have been slow to pick up on ZM or the mayoral primary. Now that I have, I can't get enough. I also hope to catch up on your past issue - I only 'know' of you through @seasterjones!

Mamdani is a return to normalcy. Normal people, living normal lives. Travelling to normal jobs with normal hours on normal commutes. Normal food for normal prices within a normal distance from your normal house. Just things that normal people want.
