I learned tonight from a speech given by a socialist party leader from France here at the Marxism Festival in London that Macron is planning to cut off access to the Internet in the communities where people are protesting the state-sponsored racist and xenophobic murder of refugees to disrupt the protesters' ability to communicate and organize.

Your statement there suggests that there is, indeed, some entity deciding, and that some entity SHOULD decide, and then remove that offending information from view of The People. How is it not equally tyrannical if, say, the board of a non-profit decides, or whatever group ends up running our future Utopia?
I pretty much always agree with your posts, and I appreciate the time you put into it.
Social media has other issues besides the very rich, like mob mentality and a slew of people who will just believe anything and mob up on whoever they are told to. The good is undeniable, but as a person who has been stalked and fucked with by an obsessed federal agent masquerading as a hacker. I have no doubt had a miserable time on social media. But feel blessed that I have come to eradicate it from my life, at great cost in terms of staying aware and in touch with the world, and yet in a sadly increasing nihilistic fashion I have come to give so many less fucks. Which is good and not.
Capitalism is broken, law enforcement broken AF, the supreme court & politics served only the rich. Or allows you a way to work consume & die. Our existence is only worthwhile if we build a society that cares about each other genuinely. But as my life has become isolated, which I don't hate or love, I find myself locked out and looking in, so I no longer look in out or within like I once did. It seems this human and the world are winning.
There is no disease worse than power and those who are addicted to wielding it
Yes, that's the problem. Musk ain't leaving the company and it will continue to be degraded both technically and politically. Supporting it now only draws out the collapse. If you or I don't use it, so what, hopefully it becomes more of a trend. I'm glad the Germans figured it out.
