It really is something to see, especially remembering how humanity managed to topple kings and queens in the names of freedom, democracy, and equality centuries ago. Now, a new order of kings and queens is returning with new ways to keep the masses from revolting as billionaires. Is humanity truly doomed to go through this cycle again?

All of this, thank you. And because legacy corporate media is in the tank for the billionaire fascist class, and will not defend democracy, we have to FIX MEDIA NOW! https://twitter.com/FixMediaNow

Imagine what our country could be like if American media had saturated the airwaves with how much $250,000 per person to ride on a doomed submarine (which meant that sub went down with more than $1 million wasted) could have been used to feed and house howevermany hungry Americans. Did ANY media even bother to consider that in their nonstop walltowall coverage?

No and you know why? Because they're all for the spectacle. They're not there as voices for the voiceless.

Our media has failed America. It consistently sides with the authoritarians.

Yet so many activists still fall for the semiannual "Save local journalism and subscribe!" ploys.

None of us can save American journalism. It has doomed itself to side with our enslavers. They laid off most of the journalists who could change this. Anyone who stands up to anything is gone from any newsroom. Even the journalism professors are all capitulators and collaborators.

There are few real journalists left to even tell you this. Fix your journalism. That's something that truly does need to be brought back again from the past. We used to have the best media in the world. We could have it again, if people would stop defending the drek that exists now. That's the first step.

there's plenty of good journos out there, on their own. we need everyone else, in each of their skillsets, to fight in the ways they expertly know how to already. everything, everywhere, all at once.

"Getting to work" is how we got ourselves into this mess in the first place, is it not?

Haha I can’t tell how you serious you are here, but I believe this is a matter of semantics. I mean increase our organizing and learning and building union and co-ops etc etc

It's not semantics, it's satire. What I mean is we should quit our jobs which are destroying the world and starve the beast that we would still be feeding even if we were organized, learned, unionized, and cooperative.

what you're calling for is a nationwide general strike to exert political influence. you're not going to be able to get that without a significant amount of organization, unionization, cooperation and resources. Right now we don't have any of those. When you start building a new house, you need a stable foundation, otherwise when the force and stress is put on it it's going to crumble and collapse. it's a lot easier to convince people to agree to strike if they know that they'll still be able to clothe, shelter & feed their families, and provide for necessities like medical care and transportation. Otherwise, you're just another lone voice in the void, yelling at strangers to quit their job and telling them they're not a REAL communist if they're afraid that doing so could mean losing the prescription medication they need to survive or having their children taken by the state for neglect. A nationwide general strike has to be able to show people that a different way of life is not only possible but necessary to address systemic failure.

When I got my masters of environmental law and policy, I learned that corporations put a dollar value on human life so they could see how many of them their products could kill before making expensive changes to the product was worth it.

josh i love your work. my fear is that apathy has taken over america. i hate to be so negative but americans are all depressed, we're burnt out, humanity just isnt there anymore the way it used to be. most americans dont have self awareness and theyre too busy worrying about keeping their own jobs to unify. meanwhile the employers are wealthier than ever before and its just such a horrible time that were living in. i hope things will change.

If we stopped sending billions to the White Supremacist Nazis in Ukraine and other corrupt governments around the world and keep our tax dollars in the US, where we should be helping our Veterans and underserved, the US wouldn't have a poverty issue, but the NGO poverty pimps will be out of business 🤷‍♀️

Nancy Pelosi expanded the police state, empowered them by taking the CPD on a national level - her clapping seals and corrupt RiNOs voted for it. I don't recall any protests about the overreach. Why are we selective by which police over reach we protest? All of them are bad.
