This is beautiful, enraging and correct. Thanks for writing it

Thank you, Joshua, for shining light on the Truth of Things while pushing that we must hang on to hope.

Without hope, without our compassion, we have nothing. You're doing such great work here.

Joshua. You nailed this. It could be Pulitzer material. The passion alone. I can't afford a subscription. I am just a poor writer who lives in Appalachia, and dangerous work is dangerous work. I kick around. I have covered a lot of murders in New Mexico when working there. Today, if I am talking to ANYONE, I just assume they are armed. That is the world we live in. You might want to do a stint in Mexico. Seriously. Mazatlan. It is really scary and really hard. I'm never going back. It's Columbia, 1977. Of course, Ukraine is a no-brainer. Someone might consider a peek at the law/ judicial system there. We do not know how it works. We need to read more contemporary stuff because they will soon be slaughtered. That would be my spin, POV, beginning to end. Cover Z who is fighting for his job. Political refugees in Sweden surrendered to Turkey as fall guys. Where are they. Just ideas. That is all this is. Your sword and your voice are both extraordinary.

Thank you Joshua! I am a criminal justice advocate and nonprofit founder living in Florida so I know exactly how you feel. How did we get here? You touched on some of it and there’s so much more. It is sad how this country has become so ultra conservative and punitive. I agree fascist is a better description. We, the 99% need to take back our country from the control by the 1%. Musk and Zuckerberg control what we see and hear online. We need to be mindful of what is happening in our world and come together with solutions. Peaceful strikes are one way collective way to ‘speak up’ and seek action from leaders. I like to think that for every problem there is a solution if you take the time to look. I love your writing, spirit, and passion Joshua!

This reminds me of all the memories shared with about a community that cared: Resurrection City, the DC encampment of the original Poor People’s Campaign in 1968. It was a home where there was free housing and food and no jails. It was vilified by Congress (crime nonsense talk) the federal and local security apparatus and brutally destroyed after 42 days. Yes, Joshua, we need more of this kind of care.

This is so very sad. It's also vitally important that we understand the dynamics at work. Poverty and hate go together, especially in a world where propaganda that others people is rife.
