Both of my parents went to early graves being worked to death by ungrateful, uncaring, greedy bosses. It's wonderful to see the working class waking up in this country!
The examples of solidarity in the article are inspiring. It is heartwarming to see workers from different industries and countries coming together to support each other. This kind of solidarity is essential for building a more powerful working class movement.
It's true— that solidarity is not always easy. It takes sacrifice and commitment. However, it is worth it. When we stand together in solidarity, we are stronger than any individual. We can achieve so much more together than we can alone.
To build on the historical context of fascism, I was reading Parenti’s Assassination of Julius Caesar, which is fantastic, but what he noted in the book, was that the fall of the republic and the beginning of the Roman Empire (that is, more or less a monarchy, we might call it a dictatorship), was a response to Caesar’s attempts to push through people’s reforms and curb the power of the oligarchic Senate. During his reign, the Senate complained bitterly that his rule constituted a “dictatorship” and was a threat to the republic. But when the senate murdered Caesar and his nephew Octavian truly became a dictator, reversing all of Caesar’s popular reforms, destroying the Republic and becoming the first true Emperor, these same senators embraced him enthusiastically. Why? Because he advocated for their class interests. This was the exact same position they took during Caesar’s youth, when they supported the brutal crackdown on populists and the proletariat by Sulla, who murdered 10s of thousands of Romans in order to cement oligarchic rule. It’s just wild how similar the end of the Republic is to the rise of fascism in the 20th century.
Anyone listened to Strike Force Five? I notice it has Jimmy Fallon as a co-host and he famously was not good to his crew when the current strike started.

Solidarity forever!
Shocking that Bill Maher is a scab, and creepy that Drew Barrymore is too. But really impressed with the Strike Force Five. United we stand.
