It's interesting. One of the many ways the establishment dismisses The Kids is by referring to the cliche of the 1960s hippie who became a Reaganite once they had a mortgage or whatever. I just don't see a similar pattern unfolding here. What is it about having a job and a mortgage that makes you OK with dead kids? (lol as if jobs and mortgages are still a thing).

Yeah I thought about spending more time with this, but I think the fundamental difference is that the life and economic conditions especially that hippies were able to transition into just isn't available to most young people these days. The wealth and desire to protect that wealth that seems to have changed a lot of that generation isn't coming down the pike these days.

The protests in the 60's were infiltrated and co-opted by the CIA, who introduced all the drugs and the "free love" crap, to delegitimize the anti-war student movement-- and it wasn't JUST students. I was a kid, but I was anti-war. The drugs and the hippie thing derailed the whole thing, even though it ended up being successful... It was extremely divisive, and the Anti-War movement wasn't anything NEW, either. Nobody wants to pay to watch children, women, old men and even young men, people who aren't doing anything BAD, get slaughtered!

Wow. This is an awesome speech, Joshua. And tying it all together - and to the place where most of us are finally fully engaged: recognising that there's no turning back. Once that rests in your guts... Thanks for what you are doing.

Thank you for this, it really beautifully encapsulates a lot of the feelings I've been trying to process lately.

Up close universities are a disappointment and the image that has been put in people’s mind is so far off the mark. Boards are filled with rich donors who often have disdain for students and low level staff.

Thanks for this, it’s quite informative about student perspective.

While I agree with the indignation and assessments about universities, I am personally disappointed to see all this moral energy devoted to such a messed up situation. There are no “good guys” in this conflict - the leaders of both sides (Netanyahu and Hamas) are murderous extremists who WANT war, because it strengthens them politically. There are FAR WORSE moral outrages going on in the world every year: more murders, more genuine ethnic cleansing, and more mass starvation even. Why do they get almost no attention from students, and from the world press? While anything involving “Israel” gets huge amounts of indignation? Right now Sudan, Ukraine, and (still) Syria are in this situation, and probably several others that I have not been following.

It’s impossible for me to support one side morally over the other, when Hamas has also been even more extreme with its goals of mass murder, torture, genocide, dictatorship, and ethnic cleansing. The main difference is that Israel has much more military power. I wish students would get indignant about even worse conflicts. But I understand that for many students, this is the first time they have understood how horrible wars are, and how unfair to civilians. The situation in Palestine is worthy of their indignation, even if others are even worse.

And while students are not facing repression that can be compared to what the Black Panthers and others have faced, they are repeatedly facing mass violence from the state as well as vigilantes.

Violence against students, if kept silent, will be a recurring event and not an isolated event.

We have not reached this shameful and inhumane situation in Palestine except through silence and ignoring minor issues.

A piece of cloth consists of a group of threads. If one thread pulls out, and after a while another thread pulls out, and a third pulls out, you will be SURPRISED 😮 by a large patch that you will not know when it appeared.

76 years of humanity have been stolen, it's time to STOP loss ✋️ 📉 now now.

The harder we work to stop the genocide in Palestine & independence Palestine the harder we work towards our own liberation.

I'm with you on Gaza (how can one NOT be???). I'm so proud and happy to see US youth coming out in favor of stopping this horrible genocide... I'm really really glad to see it!!

I will say this, tho, and I don't mean to be antagonistic, but it's very clear to me that "Global Warming" is a myth. It's a psy-op. Humans have no power over this, it's actually the SUN that is the master of our climate-- and it's COOLING. We're so low on CO2 that the plants are struggling, because of that, and also because of all the EMF's. Okay, I'm just saying these things, I can give evidence via other people's work, but I'm just a reader and truth seeker, and I don't even save that kind of info because I have NO doubts anymore! I used to, but not now. You don't know me, I'm new to your page, but I like your writing and the other, very important parts of your post. Peace for Gaza. xo

Global warming and climate change is not and has never been a myth. What drugs are you on? Imaging denying that climate change is man made. Utterly fucking insane.

Show me the money. You know, Gregor, human beings are capable of many things, and have an almost unlimited ability to fuck things up and trash the world, but control of the SUN has not yet become part of our repertoire. Cheers.

Well, from what I saw, there was that, yes, and also some pretty heavy brutality going on, too, maybe especially in CA. Want the skinny on stuff of this nature, check out the podcasts of Judge Napolitano. He has various guests who seem to be quite on the ball with the truth about what's going on, and no BS MSM garbage. Trying to censor everyone is PLENTY of backlash, tho, really, because it's a Constitutional RIGHT, but it's also a NATURAL right, as in, Natural Law. Cheers.

I live near Tacoma, and once a "leader" at my former church - very white centered, heteronormative, Conservative organization, (who also promoted Plandemic) talked about the "demonic influence" present in CHAZ, I knew I was witnessing a true freedom moment. I went up there two years ago, and that was clear. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
