You brought all the pieces together to paint the picture. Even the elimination of jobs by AI - it will happen rapidly and leave us with our mouths agape unfortunately.
Let’s re-term climate change to your gorgeously accurate term going forward: “capitalist, fossil-fuel phenomenon?” CFFP
AI + expropriation of jobs + criminalization of homelessness: the latest descendant of Enclosure and Vagrancy Laws at the outset of capitalism. It’s always doing the same shit.
Our liberation being connected is such a key learning point and helps me when it all feels so heavy. I joined a Trade Union this weekend, and that’s as important a step to liberation as the protest for Palestine I will go to next weekend.
But let’s remember we need ppl who will at least listen in our govt. all levels! White supremacy gets white men their power but everything else is destroyed.
Agree that white supremacy is a key part of why we don’t do this-it’s also key in what to look for as white people do make steps toward solidarity. We’ll drag it along with us and need to be able to make sense of it and mitigate it.
I agree with your take on capitalism, and about our interdependence across the globe. I’m a little uncomfortable with some of your other arguments though. I have no doubt that there’s institutional racism that hurts Arab Americans, but to suggest that the US is “especially” permissive of Israel attacking our citizens echoes some very old and dark conspiracies.
This post reads, “In Palestine, we’ve seen multiple Americans murdered in cold blood by Israel. … The U.S. provided no consequence for this murder…”
We’ve also seen Americans murdered in cold blood by Palestinians — by Hamas. The US has provided no consequence in response to those deaths either.
In fact I’m not sure the US ever does in such cases…? I’d be interested to know of examples. And though it feels awful to do nothing, what would the appropriate consequence be?
This isn’t to support or justify Israel’s actions or the way the US has dealt with the war, but I do think a more accurate picture is important. May there be peace very soon.
But there ARE consequences for American deaths caused by Hamas - the increased military support for Israel and direct US involvement in the destruction of Gaza, using those deaths at least in part, as justification. The entire so-called “War on Terror” is justified by the deaths of Americans killed by those we would treat as expendable and has killed a thousand times as many people who are thus clearly seen as expendable.

The destruction in the Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee mountains is worse than most people know, pay attention to what will happen there.
We need a world wide strike that involves all workers from every country. Would only need to be for a week to get our point across .
I think about this all the time, almost every day. A general strike!!

Thank you for your words.

Trump is.
