Came for the clickbait title, stayed for the Big Baby. As always, JP, you tackle these big topics with unapologetic principles and true heart! 💜

J.P., if I told you that we could create an extraordinary new social media about activism gamified and all of the ways to do the Peaceful Revolution, would you want to know how? We can and here's how: www.humbledeeds.com

Thank you for bringing attention to Curtis yarvin, he’s an extremely dangerous person and what we’re seeing now is TERRIFYING bc it’s part of his master plan to get rid of federal employees and replace them w his creepy little clones. It’s straight out of the Nazi Germany playbook

This is terrifying and also so very important. Thank you for placing an emphasis on building community and not just protesting and "voting."

I WISH the left would embrace prefigurative politics. But I think many are driven by ego, this need to 'win' a campaign, to organise the most headline splashing protest, to martyr themselves by going to prison (I was part of Just Stop Oil for a long time), to prove they are 'on the right side of history'. People on the left have a lot of work to do to drop their own individualisation, as prefiguring the world we want to see is a laborious, slow and often boring process that no one is going to be giving you attention for.

I can't read these anymore, when the same writers were nowhere to be seen when Dems served the same masters. It's like watching the masters in one group cry about the masters in another getting a new toy - the serfs are not impressed. Dems gave Elon billions in taxpayer subsidies - silence. Dems sabotage primaries - silence. Dems spend most of their time begging billionaires for bucks - silence. Unions are not interested in actual revolutions and should stop pretending, when they'll just go to back to business as usual after a Dem owned by the 1% wins. Two corrupt parties deserve nothing but a revolution. A real one. But we're cowards and don't want to admit it.

Thiel is such a hypocrite. He’s a homosexual man married to another man and they have kids. And yet he rages against LGBTQ+.

Makes sense to me. In his line of work, hypocracy is not optional.

The most important part of the essay is at the end: we will only win with anti-individual behavior. Mutual aid and support is the next era if we want to defeat the grotesqueries of fascist capitalism and infantile tyranny.

Musk, Thiel, Bezos, and Zuck are malignant narcissists. They don't recognize the existence of other people except to the extent that they praise or serve them. We will not defeat them with more addiction and self-absorption, only community and collaboration.

It is vaguely infuriating that the left (of which I am a proud member) is still viewed as something not worthy of serious consideration, but we on the left view the right and the status quo center as deeply immature and selfish. We have been right all along.

It is very offensive that they see themselves as oppressed when some of us are, in fact, marginalized nerds that are shunned by a largely unempathetic society.

I lived in silicon valley during college back in the 2010's and began to feel so unnerved by it. You articulated the underpinnings this insidious techno-fascism so brilliantly. Great piece!

Love it. Big baby. That's it!! That's why it's so funny the "free world" is ruled by a big baby and his big baby friends. Terrifying, but hilarious. From my perspective, you nailed it.

Seriously, if our paths ever cross, I can offer you cheese and tea made from my landscape. Would love chatting in exchange. ❤️

Seriously people, be or find friends who have dairy pets and basic skills. These are beyond monetary value if you like to eat food...

The commentary on Vance, Thiel, and Jarvin reminds me of this video essay by Joanna who runs The Silly Serious (here on Substack too!). A great analysis if you've got thirty minutes. https://youtu.be/5RpPTRcz1no?si=dfL2Wa1ANFDXdhl8
