I come from a red state where debt is frowned upon and I have multiple friends avoiding taking care of themselves or moving forward with their lives in any way for fear of it. Unlike me, whose medical needs forced me to take on debt, they haven't had to bite that bullet.
Frankly, none of us should. I'd be happy to pay the amount medical services actually cost if they were charged that way, or volunteer for my colleges so they too can keep costs down, but right now the numbers are daunting and unfair.
Even if we don't have debt, the mere threat of it paralyzes us. It's fantastic to get it paid off, but the system needs an overhaul.
Thank you for helping point us to more ways we can help. Hopefully the big changes we need can be accomplished in time
The system is working as it was intended to. Capitalism is the world's largest pyramid scheme. It cannot be fixed because it isn't broken. Sadly, we don't have the time to properly dismantle it. The next market crash, it's coming, will be as bad if not worse than the crash in 1929.
I think it's a HUGE problem, and as you suggested, it's not by accident. I don't mean to sound like a paranoiac "conspiracy freak" but as I understand it, the Grand Plan has much to do with the destruction of the US. From a world peace standpoint, that would probably be a good thing, but there are millions and millions of Americans who have nothing to do with hegemony, or corporate malfeasance, or political fuckery, or really much of anything beyond trying to keep our heads above water and work that shit-pay job, or keep trying to find a shit-pay job, and like that... It's going to crash hard, or so we're told, and with so many living on the edge already, it seems pretty likely that we're going to have some Rowdy Times in the near future. It's time to put the Globalistas/Capitalistas down and begin to rebuild the destruction they've waged on us from the get-go. So saith the dog.

Very good points. That said, I might just open a TikTok account.
Haha fair enough, fair enough
